Newborn Photos + A Beautiful Heirloom Baby Gift Idea

A Classic Heirloom Baby Gift

Give

Louise has been home a little over a month and she is just thriving. She is so sweet-natured and our older girls cannot get enough of her. (Nor can I!) I’m excited to share these newborn photos that perfectly capture our joy with having her home, as well as a really special baby blanket with a royal connection.

First, I have to tell you how these photos came to be. Through mutual church friends, Dallas photographer Ali Wood heard about Louise’s story this summer. She reach out to me and offered to do newborn pictures whenever Louise came home from the NICU. Ali had no idea I had a blog; she just wanted to give us – people she barely knew – this special gift to celebrate, and always remember, God’s faithfulness. (Now that is a selfless gift!).

But I do have a blog . . . so, of course, I am going to share these beautiful photos with y’all…

Special side note: my beloved grandmother (who I wrote about here) sewed the day gown above for my oldest daughter. All of my girls have worn it home from the hospital. I plan on framing it until (hopefully!) one day when a granddaughter will wear it. The wicker rocking chair was my grandmother’s, too.

LZ Monograms made the cutest little newborn diaper cover for Louise – so tiny!

And this classic receiving blanket Hip Hip Hooray gave Louise added a beautiful touch to the photos.

hurt blanket

It is the same blanket the Duchess of Cambridge used to wrap her babies in when she and Prince Williams left the hospital.  G.H. Hurt blankets are knitted in the most delicate, scalloped-edged patterns and are made from Merino Wool or Cashmere. Each one comes with a beautiful keepsake gift box. The wool is on our New Baby Gift Guide

This is an heirloom-worthy baby gift and so special for a Christening gift, too. Hurt blankets are difficult to find in the U.S., but Dallas children’s boutique Hip Hip Hooray carries them (in several colors).

Thank you to Ali Wood for these beautiful photos and for such an easy family photo session with no tears and all smiles (a rare feat with four children!). Ali has a few limited spots for fall/holiday photos left. You can contact her here
