It’s Friday afternoon and that means sales, thoughts, and tidbits that I didn’t fit into other posts this week, including my FAVORITE hoop earrings that are 25% off!
Fave Deal of the Week…My favorite gold hoop earrings that I wear in just about every post are on sale 25% off + free shipping! My mom told me she wanted some a while back so I hopped on this rare deal and bought her some for Mother’s Day. These hoops are modern and unique and you will find you will wear them all the time, too! *** Also, my floral Liberty top is almost 50% off when you add code LOTSTOSHOP.
Best Thing I Received in the Mail this Week…Bumpbox sent me their first trimester gift box (top photo). It’s such a great gift for an expecting mama. You can give a single box or give a subscription where each month the expecting mama receives a personalized delivery of lifestyle, pregnancy, and baby products!
Advice I gave this week…A reader emailed me to ask my opinion on whether or not she should attend her best friend’s grandfather’s funeral, which was held an hour from where she lived. I told her: most definitely. As I said in one of my first posts, when in doubt, “just go.” You may only be able to give her a hug in the receiving line, or maybe not at all, but just seeing you there or knowing you attended would mean so much to her friend. Friends are supposed to be there in good and hard times and I also think acts like this really solidify growing friendships, too.
Now, I know sometimes with small children or long distance, it’s not always possible to go to things like this. If able, I would go. If not, send a card or flowers. I will never forget when my sweet group of college friends sent me beautiful flowers after my grandmother died. They knew how close we were and how painful her passing was for me. They couldn’t be there because of distance but the kind gesture has never left my heart.
Been Meaning to Share…My Children’s Easter book post. So many sweet classics like The Country Bunny that would be perfect in Easter baskets. (On that note: don’t forget my Easter basket goodies post with other great ideas!)
Article I saved…Amber Venz Box’s 20 questions interview in Entrepreur magazine. Amber is the founder of Reward Style (which has been a game changer in the fashion and blogging industry). I have heard her answer question #15 before and it was very impactful to me as a small business owner. Question #12 was also very good to read as a parent.
Fun fact…Speaking of Reward Style, I was asked to be a part of their Dallas City Guide on their @liketoknow.it Instagram page (with 2 million followers!) this past week. I chose Northpark as one of my favorite Dallas destinations. I’ll be sharing more about this next week but, if interested, you can scroll back through their feed to see the pic of me at Northpark. Y’all are going to LOVE the dress I wore.
Since it’s Masters Weekend….And Augusta is known for their $1.50 pimento cheese sandwiches, I thought I’d share an easy (and inexpensive!) pimento cheese recipe. Warning: it’s one of those you can kind of have to eyeball so just roll with it! Ingredients:
- 1 pack of Kraft shredded Mexican or Cheddar/Monterey Jack blend cheese
- 1/4-1/2 cup of mayo
- 1 tsp. dijon mustard (more if if you like it!)
- 1/2 jar of pimentos, drained
- dash of cayenne pepper (if you like a bigger kick!).
- Optional: chopped pecans.
On that note, if you have a friend who likes to collect cookbooks, this out-of-print Augusta Junior League cookbook has been written about in Southern Living and would be a unique gift for a food (and golf!) lover or cookbook collector.
Favorite Weekend Sales…
- Neiman Marcus extended their gift card promotion. Spend $200, get a $50 gift card all the way up to a $500 gift card when you spend $2,000! Since the Masters will be on our brains (or at least our t.v.s!) this weekend, it might be a good time to freshen up your husband’s golf and warm-weather wardrobe with new Peter Millar shirts and shorts, available at Neimans.
- Anthropologie – 25% off dresses continues! Think Easter!
Looking forward to…Going to the Dallas Art Fair today! Anyone else going? Follow me on my Instastories as art advisor, Jennifer Klos from Collector House, shows me all the amazing pieces available to purchase (or just swoon over!).
