Newly Released Books that Make Lovely Gifts!

Fall is a time when publishers release some of their best new books – just in time for the holiday season. Today I am sharing some of the ones that I have purhcased and ones that I think would make wonderful gifts!

I love giving books as gifts. You can be so thoughtful in picking out a book for someone. Does she love design, healthy food, or is she interested in a particular hobby? It’s so easy to find something that aligns. But also I love that a book is usually a reasonably priced gift to give (if you buy on Amazon, of course!).

Famed designer Mark Sikes released Beautiful last month. Sikes is the name in interior design right now (and classic fashion; see his brand MD Stripes). Anyway, the forward of this gorgeous book is from producer Nancy Meyers so you know it’s going to be good.

I actually gave this to a friend as a housewarming gift. She loved it, of course!

Here are some more new release design books that are sure to be coffee table favorites, including Bunny Williams’ latest:

One of my earliest giveaways on DoSayGive.com was 100 Days of Real Food’s first cookbook. It’s not a super fancy gourmet cookbook but it helps me so much with everyday food like lunches, snacks, weeknight meals. Well, the second cookbook was released last week and it looks to be great, too.

Sure, you can find some of the recipes on the website, but that’s why it makes a great gift. You might not necessarily buy for yourself but you would certainly love it if someoen gave it to you because who doesn’t love having an acutal hard cookbook to cook with? It would also be a great gift for a busy mom.

Other new cookbook releases include Ina Garten’s Cooking for Jeffrey and Skinnytaste’s new book

Some of our favorite personalitites have released books this fall. I have written about my love for the Simplified Planner so it’s fun to see Emily Ley with her own book. Her “grace not perfection” mantra has resonated with so many moms, including myself, so I can’t wait to dive right into this pretty compilation of her thoughts and prayers.

It actually reads a little like a workbook, too, with places to jot down thoughts and struggles. This might be a good book to read over Thanksgiving break when you have some down time to really think. (I feel like I never have time to just think!). I also think it would a great gift for a friend trying to “do it all” and feeling burdened “by it all.”

Now y’all don’t hate me when I say I don’t watch Fixer Upper (I don’t have time to watch much t.v. because do blog stuff in my down time!) but I know many of y’all love Chip and Joanna Gaines. If you haven’t heard, their new book is out and already a bestseller. This would be a great gift for HGTV fans. Nordstrom also has a Magnolia Home line from Joanna Gaines – pair the book with a cute tray for a thoughtful gift!

Here are some more new releases from some popular personalities and authors. I’m looking forward to reading Tim Keller’s new book about Christmas. (If you have not heard of Tim Keller, he is like a modern-day C.S. Lewis. Whether you are a Christian or not, his arguments are worth reading as seen with Google inviting him to their campus last week to talk about skepticism of God. Any of his books make gifts for the intellectual in your family!):

Hope you found something fun to read or give! Let me know if I missed a great new release. You can view all my gift books picks anytime under the “Shop” tab at the top of my homepage.
