Last weekend I went to New Orleans for a quick girls’ getaway. We stayed in an apartment right in the heart of the French Quarter and spent the weekend eating and chatting. Don’t you just love friends with whom you can pick up with right where you left off – even if it’s been a year?!
I am sharing my packing list as well as some fabulous New Orleans restaurants, bars, and shops!
In honor of National Poetry month, I thought it’d be fun to share with you some wonderful poetry books for children. Ones that they can read and ones that can be read aloud to them. Any of these would make a wonderful gift!
You know how much I love my “Big O” Key Ring. Life changing, really. (You can read about why I can’t live without it here.) Well, they just released some beautiful colors for Spring and I have a free shipping code to share!
It’s free shipping mania today! Lots of stores are pushing Mother’s Day gifts and offering free shipping (on top of sale prices, in some cases!). And, one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, is among them!
A friend recently asked me if she should adjust how much she and her husband spend on a friend’s wedding gift since they are flying to a very expensive destination for the wedding and paying for a hotel for two nights. And that got me thinking about other questions people often have regarding wedding gift-giving. Since the wedding season is nearly upon us, I thought it’d be the perfect time to write a post about this important “What to Do.”
I have told you before how much I LOVE my Yeti tumbler. It keeps my coffee hot during my morning carpool runs and beyond (seriously for hours!). So I was thrilled to find a company that can monogram a Yeti tumbler with a process that doesn’t fade or peel. I have had mine for a month and it looks just the same as the day I received it!
Update: Be sure to read my newest post about Rambler On for more awesome designs + A YETI Hopper giveaway.
Monday’s Mother’s Day Gift idea post featured the jewelry subscription company Rocksbox. Well, about a month ago Rocksbox contacted me to see if I’d be interested in trying out their jewelry subscription service. I was a bit skeptical so asked my jewelry designer sister, who assured me that Rocksbox is a totally legit company that has a fabulous thing going. I have been using it for a month now and absolutely love the concept. And, good news, Rocksbox is offering DoSayGive readers their first month free!
The most important thing on Mother’s Day is to tell your mom – whether in a card or verbally – how much you love her and how much she means to you. But gift-giving is also a love language, a way to express your appreciation to your mother (and mother-in-law and grandmother!). I hope my gift ideas below help you show your mother how much you love her this May 10th.
