Beautycounter Makeup Review!

Beautycounter Makeup Review!

Last year I wrote a few posts on Beautycounter skincare products, but I have been meaning to try their makeup. Sharing my review today plus a special offer if you’ve been wanting to try it!

I really liked all the Beautycounter products I tried last year. In fact, I still use many of them (love the Nourishing Cleansing Balm at night!) but I was hesitant to try the makeup. Skeptical more like it. After all, I need good makeup to cover my flaws! And how good could makeup with “safe” ingredients really be? (If you aren’t familiar, Beautycounter’s mission read my original review here).

But my cute cousin, who is a Beautycounter consultant, kept encouraging me to try it, saying it was developed by Christy Coleman, who is a well-known makeup artist to the stars. So when I was home for Christmas, she did a little makeup session on me and I loved the fresh, natural look it gave me. But because I had just bought Charlotte Tillbury’s foundation, I didn’t buy the Beautycounter right away. But slowly over the past few months, I have been building up my collection.

If you are interested in trying their makeup, here are the makeup products I have been using along with my thoughts:

  •  Tint Skin Foundation As mentioned, I had been wearing Charlotte Tillbury’s super popular light wonder foundation and honestly, I like this better. Note: normally I don’t splurge for the expensive brushes but it definitely pays to buy the complexion blush to apply this foundation. (I didn’t at first and ended up buying it later!).

  • Color Pinch Cream Blush I bought this in Hibiscus (the brightest color) but, honestly, I am still learning to put it on properly. Tip: a little dabbing goes a long way. I think my next Beautycounter purchase will include the softer caramel color. I am wearing the Hibiscus in this photo (along with Charlotte Tillbury’s matte lipstick in Sexy Sienna). If you can put it on properly, it definitely gives you that fresh-faced look.

  • Finishing Powder Again, I am pretty skeptical about the non-essentials makeup products so didn’t buy the finishing powder the first go round. But this is another product I bought a month or so later and have really enjoyed. I am not sure how but it does give your skin a little once-over, taking away the shine but not the glow.(Do I sound like a Beautycounter consultant?? I am not, I promise. I just like many of their products!). One more thing, I did buy the powder brush to apply, but if you are trying to save money somewhere I think you can use a brush you already have at home for this product.

Tip: if you are makeup challenged like me, definitely watch the videos on their site about how to apply – they help!
