Being Gracious in Business

Do

11009135_1675619002668273_8448211831267559606_nI think most of us try to be thoughtful and gracious in our personal lives, but what about our professional lives?

Are we timely in our email responses, gracious in our praise of co-workers, and thoughtful of others in our business dealings?I know in some fields this kind of behavior might not fly. (My husband used to work in a very cutthroat environment so I get that!)

But as I try to grow my little blog, I am always looking at how other entrepreneurs and small business owners interact in their business dealings. The Beaufort Bonnet Company is a great example of this, as seen with this kind thank you note they sent me. (And, yes, TBBC, she looks adorable in her swimsuit!).

I feel like realtors have always gotten it right with sending gifts for referring a new client or upon the close of a house. And good packaging, in my opinion, also shows thoughtfulness toward the customer. I don’t know about you, but whenever I receive something I ordered in the mail and it looks like it’s just been thrown in the box with little care or attention to detail, I hate to say it, but I am a tad disappointed. (My sister, Neely Phelan Jewelry, on the other hand, does an excellent job at this!).
