Easy Family Friend and Neighbor Gifts

Do you drop off a little treat or small gift to your closest friends and  neighbors during the holidays? It doesn’t have to be expensive. Just something that shows you love and appreciate them this time of year. Today I’m sharing some super easy ideas – both store bought and homemade. And most are really affordable!

Spoiler alert to my neighbors: I am giving these cute reusable holiday cups (top photo) from The Plaid Pig this year. I like leaving these out on so guests can easily grab something to drink. They are cute for parties, too. They are top rack dishwasher safe and – get this – they come wrapped with that adorable ribbon in a plastic sleeve. So you don’t have to do anything but add a gift tag. Seriously the easiest gift ever!

(Note: these are the smaller cups but they come in a larger size, too).

Also easy: a sleeve of festive coffee cups ($15) a personalized cocktail cutting board ($14.50!), or a set of personalized gift stickers from Joy Creative Shop.

I think a cookbook is a thoughtful and affordable gift. Euna Mae’s new Love, Welcome, Serve ($15ish) brings a sweet message of gracious hospitality which makes it a perfect gift this time of year. A jar of Jammit Jams ($8) is great by itself or pair with some cheese and crackers for your friends to have an easy hor d’ouevre during the holiday season. (The back of the jars have great cheese pairing ideas!).

Want to give a gourmet gift but don’t have time to make fudge in the kitchen? Trader Joe’s has some delicious candy tins and mason jar cookie mixes for under $10. Trader Joe’s holiday hand soap sets are also so cute and affordable. These coasters ($12 + free shipping) from Target already come with the ribbon. They would also make a different hostess gift as would Trisha Yearwood’s Christmas in a Cup holiday cocktail mix.

t’s $16.95 but Williams-Sonoma is always having sales so definitely check. I put my Dixie Design personalized gift tags ($16.50). A set of those would also be a great gift, too.

I can’t tell you how often I run in Corner Bakery to pick up one of their cinnamon coffee cakes for a quick and easy gift. I love that people can use it for breakfast, dessert, or snack with hot tea. Bonus: it is already wrapped in clear wrap and ribbon. I just like to add my own ribbon and tag to dress it up a bit!

Another gift I love is this personalized reusable cookie tin ($12).Fill it with your signature homemade treat for a thoughtful gift. It looks cute on a countertop, too.

Okay, now for the homemade gifts. I have an entire “Homemade Holiday Gifts” Pinterest Board with things I’ve created and LOTS of ideas from bloggers and creatives way more gifted in the food department than I am! Be sure you are following DoSayGive on Pinterest because I have lots of great holiday boards, including a gift wrapping board.

  1. What are your thoughts about hosting a holiday party in lieu of neighbor gifts? If you have all of your neighbors for a party (or friends for that matter) can that count as your “gift” to them?
