The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale begins on Monday and today I am sharing details on the sale and what I think are the four items to snag in the sale. Pieces you will wear year after year.
What is the After Party Sale?
Lilly Pulitzer does not put items on sale very frequently so twice a year they have huge sales where tons of their best items are majorly marked down. You can shop in stores starting on September 8th, but the sale starts online on September 10 at 7am CT. This year, instead of releasing products in waves, they will post all of their items all at once, so as soon as it says sold out, it is gone! All sales during the After Party Sale are final.
There will be markdowns in every category. Beware, the items will go fast! To make sure you have the best chance at getting the items you want, follow these steps:
- Create an account online or make sure you are able to login to your account to speed up the check out process. Register here.
- Enter your credit card and/or PayPal information because items will not be reserved until you have completed the payment process.
- The sale is all about getting in “The Virtual Line.” To ensure a good spot online, set your alarm for 7AM CT on September 10, head to the Lilly Pulitzer page and make sure not to refresh your browser. You will be placed in a virtual line and will be able to track your progress as your make it to the front of the line.

While they have not released the merchandise that will be in the sale, I know they will cover every category. Here are four pieces that are worth buying:
Patterned Shorts
I have been wearing these shorts nonstop this summer because of their versatility. They are easy to throw on with a casual white tee or tank top, but I can also dress them up with a nicer blouse for the evening. Pro Tip: Many times, Lilly Pulitzer pull their most popular items and patterns in preparation for the sale. These shorts have been pulled, but chances are they will return for the sale. If you click an item on my blog that you like that says “Sold Out,” bookmark the page or write down the item name because they will probably be included in the sale!
Swimsuit Coverup
Lilly Pulitzer makes the cutest swimsuit coverups without sacrificing quality. They have a few different style options, but my favorite is the Natalie Cover-Up. The fabric allows it to dry quickly and the fit makes it easy to transition from the beach or pool to a restaurant. It can also double as a tunic with white pants if you are looking to save packing space.
Pro Tip: If you have a long torso, size up in the cover-ups for better coverage!
Silk Blouse
When it comes to a silk blouse, the Elsa Silk Top is definitely the way to go. It is typically offered in a variety of colors and patterns. Because it is such high quality, it will last forever. Plus, the flowy fit of the top makes it flattering on many body types. And while we think of bright patterns when we think of Lilly, consider purchasing a solid white or black silk top in the sale. You can pair them with so many different outfits year round, anything from Lilly Pulitzer’s Patterned Shorts or a nice pair of denim and cute wedges.
The Elsa Silk Top is definitely Lilly Pulitzer’s most popular silk top, but their silk racerback tank top also has high reviews and would be beautiful under a blazer or paired with a skirt.
Shift Dress
The Lilly Pulitzer Shift dresses are a staple in the Lilly Pulitzer collection. They are so easy to throw on for a day of errands or dress up with some wedges for a night out. With so many colors and patterns, they can be worn all year round. Take advantage of the sale to stock up on summer patterns or look for solids that can be worn into the fall.
Shift dresses are available in girls’ sizes as well. These dresses are great investments because they can be worn for years and passed down to sisters or cousins.
