An hour south of Dallas is a hidden gem of a development on Cedar Creek Lake called Long Cove. This luxury lakefront community has resort style amenities like golfing, tennis, and swimming with special touches families love like lakeside bonfires and summer movies outside. Now you can “try before you buy” with Long Cove’s new Stay & Play package. Long Cove invited our family to try it this 3 day/2 night package a few weekends ago and my children cannot stop talking about how much fun we all had!
Twelve years in the making, it is clear that Long Cove has been a thoughtfully planned project and labor of love for Dallas developer, Don McNamara. I was not surprised to discover that Long Cove was inspired by some of the master planned communities along 30A in Florida. The charming homes and cottages in Long Cove exude that same family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It’s a retreat where families and friends can slow down, connect, and make lifelong memories.
I loved learning about all the details about Long Cove during our visit. Like the Toy Barn with games, fishing poles, and sports equipment that families can access anytime as well as the beautiful football-sized Play Field that’s great for after dinner soccer or bocce ball. All the children and dads in our group loved their new massive Thistle Never Dhu putting green after dinner one night with metal art designed by Jon Flaming scattered about.
The hit of the weekend was the resort-style pool overlooking Cedar Creek Lake with it’s water slide and beach volleyball court nearby.
I have several friends who have bought lake houses recently near Dallas but other friends don’t want the hassle of dealing with the maintenance that comes with owning a boat. One of the perks of the Long Cove Marina is their Boat Valet. Owners can use an app to ping the Marina to have their boat delivered to your dock, clean, and gassed. How nice! And if you don’t want to deal with owning a boat at all, you can take part in Long Cove’s boat club membership. Need a ski boat to take your teens out one weekend and a pontoon boat for when grandparents come the next? You can reserve whatever type of boat you need on the day you need it and it will delivered to your dock as well. Truly a luxury!
Long Cove definitely has a community feel with events like movie nights by the lake and holiday festivities for owners, but if your goal with a lake house is to escape the big city with anonymity that’s totally possible, too. The property is 1,000 acres and it never once felt crowded. I could have sat on the porch all day looking at the serene surroundings. Saturdays are typically busier at the Lake Club where the pool is but on Sunday we were the only group at the pool for a good while.
Long Cove only releases a limited number of homesites each year. Just last month, Long Cove opened up the new Henderson Bay cove. You may have seen my tour on Instagram (still saved in my Instastories highlights), but it’s the 40 acre neighborhood and park with beautiful lake views and trails meandering about (and the mature trees recently planted from George W. Bush’s Crawford ranch). There are plans for a lakeside amphitheater and a waterslide right into the lake – so fun!
The Stay & Play Package is perfect if you are considering buying a lake house or even a lot for a future build. For $895, your family can experience two nights/three days of everything Long Cove has to offer including a stay in one of their beautiful cottages, a 2-hour boat ride with water sports, a $100 credit at the new (and very delicious) Regatta Grill, unlimited golf on their 9-hole golf course, and a golf cart to explore the property while you are there. You will also get to take a tour of the beautiful property without any pressure.
Also, on Saturday, June 23 Long Cove is hosting an event at their Henderson Bay neighborhood. Guests are welcome to bring children, enjoy lunch, and take a boat tour of the shoreline. Email email@example.com for more information.
To book a Stay & Play package or inquire about the Saturday at the lake call 214-301-3345 or text SUMMER to 63566.
Thanks so much to Long Cove for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own!
