It is Poetry Week in DoSayGive’s Classic Children’s Summer Book Club. I included many nursery rhyme treasuries in this week’s selection because I think nursery rhymes can be a stepping stone to enjoy poetry later in childhood. Today on the blog I am thrilled to welcome reading specialist, Leighanne Scheuermann, of Written and Bound to give us a few tips on how to get our children to enjoy and engage with poetry and nursery rhymes. She’s also taking over my Instastories later on to show us how she read these to her children!
Independence Day is next week and I am all about the patriotic heritage. If you want to read or display some July 4th books this next week you will love the ones I’ve selected below. Also, I think a few classic books makes a unique hostess gift, especially for the family that has everything!
Still looking for that perfect gift? I think books make such special gifts. It’s an annual tradition on DoSayGive to share my favorite classic children’s Christmas books so I’m doing that today but I’m also sharing some neat gift books for children that you can get in time for Christmas! Oh and about 20 fab gifts for adults that you can still get in time with free standard shipping!
DoSayGive’s Holiday Gift Guide has so many wonderful ideas, but my absolute favorite category is the Timeless Toys and Books gift guide. Today I am telling you more about these special gifts. Plus, the 12 Days of DoSayGive giveaways continue with one of Oprah’s Favorite Things (although, cough cough, DoSayGive told y’all about this “best gift for a busy mom” first!).
Since summer is officially I’m sharing some wonderful children’s books for young children about sand, surf, and snails. Plus, a precious bathing suit from one of my favorite classic children’s brands, The Beaufort Bonnet Company.
Sometimes our family priorities get pushed to the back burner duirng the end of the school year craziness. So summer is a time for a us to press reset and once more do the things we really value as a family.
