As I have been working on my media kit the past few weeks (yes, bloggers have media kits!), I have been debating whether or not to keep the little caption I coined a year ago when I started this blog. Refinement, defined. Does it sound snooty? Does it really capture the essence of what I am trying to do with DoSayGive? And that got me started thinking about why I started DoSayGive in the first place.
Often we get so caught up in buying beautiful things that we forget that sometimes the best traditions don’t cost money at all. Today, I’m sharing some some simple last-minute ideas to make this Thanksgiving extra sweet for the ones you love.
I dress my children as my mother dressed me: child-like and sweet. I know that goes against cultural trends that encourage us to dress our babies like little hipsters. But I just can’t go there. I believe children are only children once. Their preciousness and innocence is short-lived and I want to savor every bit of it while I can.
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have notched that I tend to dress my children in more traditional clothing. So you can probably guess that I am beyond thrilled that bonnets are making a comeback.
I believe the truest sign of refinement is how you treat those serving or working for you. This might be the barista at your local coffee shop, the cleaning ladies that whirl around your house every two weeks, or yes, even your Uber driver.
